Dear motorsports fans!

This is the first edition of WEEK 31, a short newsletter that brings you up to speed about the most important motocross week of the year.
Since we’re exactly 2 months away from the only Belgian Motocross Grand Prix, week 31 will inform you on a weekly basis about this spectacular week of motor sports. GP Flanders – MX Grand Prix of Belgium will be held on the 3rd of August - the 31st week of the year – and will not just be limited to a weekend:

The week is “kickstarted” on June 29th, with the “MotoCross Racing Convention”. Firstly this congress carries a social aspect, creating a bridge between the people involved in the sport and the often complicated legislation of youth and their sporting activities or those of the training facilities. Secondly, this congress gathers the huge motocross knowledge that is present in Limburg, providing an incredible amount of information to the visitors. More detailed info and the program of this congres will be provided later on.

On Wednesday, July 30th it’s time for “MX Rookie”. MX Rookie offers amateur racers the opportunity to race a genuine MX GP-track. Qualifiers are held on Wednesday and Thursday, the final will be held on Friday June 1st, on the GP track. Prime series of this event is the class “MX Rookie”: this class is open to all juniors between 15 and 18 yrs. old, who ride themselves into the spotlight in front of the motocross professionals. In the meanwhile they’ll be competing for the main price: a brand new MX2 bike!

Naturally, GP Flanders - MX Grand Prix of Belgium is the highlight of this motocross-stuffed week. The eleventh heat of the World Championship Motocross will be held in Lommel for the first time, on a track with deep sand one can only find in this part of Belgium. The track is currently undergoing a complete makeover to meet with the highest safety standards, but also to provide a massive amount of spectacle.
